AnnouncementOur Mission and Values at GBT...
Here at GBT we hope to foster an interest in all things birding, and in so doing, also create a deep and abiding respect for our natural environment. We do so without taking ourselves too serioulsy, but we do take the state of our environment very seriously. We share our knowledge and our passion for all things birding willingly and enthusiastically.

Re: Theme of The WeekThanks Jay, and yes, SR, it was at Biyamiti weir. They were not the only ones, there were 4 more in the water just below the weir, catching small fry, together with hamerkop, about 8, lots of Pied Kingfishers, 2 Giant King's and Little Egrets. It was a great day there with my sister who was visiting from New Zealand. "Do not invoke conspiracy as explanation when ignorance and incompetence will suffice, as conspiracy implies intelligence." Re: Theme of The Week
Agreed. I think it is a lot more productive during the dry season. The park really seems to be dragging their feet with doing repairs this time around. I was surprised to see the detour between Olifants and Letaba was still in place when I was there in June.
