Kirtland's Warbler

Pic by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

For the third year running Kirtlanland’s Warbler has returned to Canadian Forces Base Petawawa, and the second year to breed. Only twice in 63 years has this warbler nested in Canada. The force base is the only known breeding location of the warbler in Canada and it was detected as part of a Species at Risk environmental program, which is taking place on National Defence Force lands.
