Sat watching a comedy act for about 20 minutes on Jozini dam - a Goliath Heron and a cat fish. The goliath was obviously hungrier than common sense because he caught himself a cat fish that obviously was not going to fit and he was not going to give up. He was very determined to make this work somehow.

He would determindly beat it about on the bank for a few minuites then stalk into the water and wash it (to get it all slippery and slimy again I assume). He would then make a valiant attempt at swallowing his breakfast only to choke and repeat the whole process over and over again (causing great hilarity on the boat).

Unfortunately time constrains dictated that we move on so I never did see the outcome.

LOL, I wonder how it ended.

I once saw a Saddle-billed stork fishing in the river in front of the Luxury bungalows at Skukuza. It caught a fish and was also beating and washing it.

All the time the stork was being follwed by a little croc, no doubt waiting for a chance to steal the fish.
