Often IDing is an issue for beginner birders as they don't even know where to start looking in the bird guide; now they can look at the predominant colour of the bird, or if it has a collar, speckles etc. and then go straight to that section in the book, making IDing far less intimidating!
The illustrations are beautiful, that is one thing one can always say for Newman's bird guides!
