26 March - White-rumped Swifts (Midrand)

Is already reported, but I saw hundreds (and this is not exagerating big_smile) of European Bee-eaters in the Kyalami area yesterday (Inanda Country base). Obviously the mass gathering before they leave.

Re: Winter Challenge

My sister reported that somebody saw a huge flock of very big raptors circling over the KNP area near Phalaborwa. (could this be Steppe Eagles getting ready to depart) (not vultures, they checked)

BK, i was lucky enough to see this on the S100 in 1999.  It was quite overwhelming to see so many eagles in one place.  The trees, ground and sky were full up with Steppes.

I felt like i was in an Alfred Hitchcock movie.. lol
