Re: GBT Southern African List

This could be quite tricky... Do you have to see a bird in a that specific area to tick it for that area? e.g. the Cuckoos we see in S.A can we tick them off as a bird for Europe?

Re: GBT Southern African List

i don't think so CS.  As they are migrants here.  I think we should also keep the vagrant tick where it was spotted.

So i guess it's where you see them.

Re: GBT Southern African List

it's not a competition Charlie tongue and anyway you have more chance of getting lifers than any of us! I am stil sulking cos it's now so difficult to get lifers here where I live...okay besides the waders and shorebirds..but then to factor in no wind days...sigh....LOL!
so common all lists up, it's just for fun, besides which I am actually a dreadful lister, I can't even add properly lol...and have to admit when Laine first suggested this I thought she meant type up a list of all the birds we have seen, I nearly had a heart attack, could see myslef missing out on Sabie Park cos I was stil typing yikes (erm ja, I am typingly challenged)

Re: GBT Southern African List

There is nothing to be embarressed about Charlie.. we all started at the beginning remember?!  we all had to tick the first one!  And like Jay said... its not a competition and we actually envy new birders cuz they get to tick way more lifers then we can!

wink
