AnnouncementOur Mission and Values at GBT...
Here at GBT we hope to foster an interest in all things birding, and in so doing, also create a deep and abiding respect for our natural environment. We do so without taking ourselves too serioulsy, but we do take the state of our environment very seriously. We share our knowledge and our passion for all things birding willingly and enthusiastically.

Re: BBW Shimuwini 2012Nice chance of thundershowers later this week in this area. That will be great for termite eruption and subsequent Lesser Spotted Eagle and Steppe Eagle invasions. Re: BBW Shimuwini 2012Ja, we spoke to a few people in the Park and there are quite a number of unhappy chappies around. Fortunately the strike did not affect us one bit. But it would seem that a few birds and the likes of leopard were on strike though. Laine and Dirk's Bird Photos - created with Bird Photo Organizer - v3.0! Re: BBW Shimuwini 2012I agree with you Jay, it is a pity that people first have to go on strike before anything gets done, while the "big guys" that sit in their ivory towers and talk rubbish rake in the money. Re: BBW Shimuwini 2012We did BBW in Skukuza the past weekend. The overall count for 2 vehicles was 247! which betters our total at Punda last year by about 14. #26 06-02-2012 10:11:54
Re: BBW Shimuwini 2012

Re: BBW Shimuwini 2012Yes I remember. I am not sure what the combined total was. Still, it is often perceived that Punda has the best birding when in fact the South also has brilliant birding #28 06-02-2012 10:26:11
Re: BBW Shimuwini 2012Yes I will agree with that, Skukuza, despite being so freaking busy is a real gem! I can levitate birds, but no one seems to care. Website :www.vdberghimages.co.za Facebook :www.facebook.com/vandenberghimages #29 06-02-2012 10:32:06
Re: BBW Shimuwini 2012One of my best sightings this past weekend was that of all 5 of Kruger's vultures around the Buffalo kill. White-backed, Cape, Lappet-faced, Hooded and White-headed. A real special sighting. Laine and Dirk's Bird Photos - created with Bird Photo Organizer - v3.0!
