I don't think I will do much birding this weekend, BK. I need a bit of a break. And besides that, the weather forecast for the rest of the year is going to wash out at the rate it is going now. lol

A very hectic birding weekend is coming up in Feb.

lol lol True, WTM, I keep records of the rainfall in our area, and in December we had 395mm! And so far this month we've had 81mm. We may have to start birding in thigh high wellies (and cozzies, or a 2 piece, wellies and hat) big_smile

I see that European Honey-Buzzard was seen at the Irene Country Club, I might consider swinging past there this weekend to try and find this lifer.

I can levitate birds, but no one seems to care.

I am on a mission to find me some crakes this month.

I heard African Crake and Baillon's Crake call on Sunday and would not mind to go out to see them again.

Two other crakes which would be lifers are:

Striped Crake
Corn Crake

And who knows perhaps even a Flufftail!

Streaky-breasted Flufftail
Striped Flufftail (yes DD and I have heard them call very handsomely last year at Elandsvlei)

So my plan is to go out to Kgomo-Kgomo very early on either Saturday or Sunday morning to go hunt some of these down.
