RFI: Namibia and Caprivi

I was wondering, how long would it take to do a trip through Namibia including the Caprivi strip to rake in all the specials.

Can someone give me some sort of a skeleton itinerary?

Ja, he would be the ideal person and I will ask him. He is unable to log onto GBT, so I will email him.

Was hoping that I could get some more ideas on GBT in the meanwhile. big_smile

Re: RFI: Namibia and Caprivi

Mmmm BK and I are planning a trip in December and we have had to focus on the coastal area and maybe Erongo/Spitskope or Etosha only - the distances are vast- like trying too bird SA in a holiday.

Re: RFI: Namibia and Caprivi

That's my understanding too. Vast areas to be covered. Are you camping or staying in more advance structures? big_smile

Re: RFI: Namibia and Caprivi

With a combined age close to 120 we will definitely be staying in advanced structure .... if we can find any , also flying to save travelling time. big_smilebig_smile

We were going to plan a trip there for this December but the China trip took its place. We will probably look into it for next year though...

Re: RFI: Namibia and Caprivi

the one thing of such long trips into remote areas is to allow for enough time. Based on weather and road conditions a 60km road can easily become a 3-5 hour adventure. Plan you overnights with an open mind and you days with a flexible agenda.
