AnnouncementOur Mission and Values at GBT...
Here at GBT we hope to foster an interest in all things birding, and in so doing, also create a deep and abiding respect for our natural environment. We do so without taking ourselves too serioulsy, but we do take the state of our environment very seriously. We share our knowledge and our passion for all things birding willingly and enthusiastically.

Re: What did you see today? (5)There was a commotion outside earlier, lots of alarm calls from the Bulbuls, Robin-Chat, and Go Away birds, I went outside to see what was going on, and found a Little Sparrowhawk sunning itself on the top of my fever tree "Do not invoke conspiracy as explanation when ignorance and incompetence will suffice, as conspiracy implies intelligence." Re: What did you see today? (5)Ramkat and I went to WSBG this morning, and while I was walking along the river track that leads from the broken bridge towards the waterfall, I could have sworn that I heard a Camaroptera calling. You know how irritating their chuckchuckchuckchuck can be..... I'm not sure what else could be calling like that, it wasn't the Bar-Throated Apalis, which I saw and heard. This call was a repeated chuckchuck. I didn't manage to see the bird, so if anybody is going to WSBG in the next week or so, please listen along the river track, maybe somebody else will hear it too. It's out of range, and not on the birdlist. I won't add it to my SABAP list, because I didn't see it, but it's now bugging me. Or if anybody has a suggestion that will also help. We saw the Fairy, Ramkat did some impressive push-ups with his camera, I'm not sure whether he managed any decent shots, because the little thing doesn't sit still for a second. Nothing out of the ordinary otherwise. "Do not invoke conspiracy as explanation when ignorance and incompetence will suffice, as conspiracy implies intelligence."
