Re: First Yellow-billed Kite of the seasonHi Marcell, it is recorded that the average arrival for Yellow-billed Kite in Skukuza is the 11th of August. The earliest arrival recorded was August 1, 1986. It then usually leaves again in March. The oldest recorded individual was 23 years old. It is a pick-pocket of note robbing other birds of their food. It is told by africans that the Yellow-billed Kite would steal from a pot carried on the women's heads without them noticing. Re: First Yellow-billed Kite of the seasonNope, I heard of the report on Friday. They were seen at their normal roosting site on the N4, north of Pretoria on Wednesday. It is about 15km from my house and yet I have had no chance to go out and view them. Laine and Dirk's Bird Photos - created with Bird Photo Organizer - v3.0!
