but check, when i hit the cape in december there will be nada, and all the rarities will be at Marievale!

the one thing that is even more clear now that Trevor has published the Soutern African List - If you see a rarity or mega and you dont have photos, dont even mention it to your best birding buddy, it means nothing.

heh? hmm

MHO is that there are far too many "shaky" birders out there. And if one does not have a photo of the rarity or mega; potential problems could easily arise from it. No one wants to spend thousands of rands chasing after a bird of which there is no real proof.

WTM, i now have to laugh at you, a few months ago you were ranting and raving about the fact that if you do not have a photo as proof a special sighting means nothing.

I do agree with you, my pity is with 1000s of birders who cannot afford expensive cameras and who can never justify a sighting with photo proof
