Re: Birds of Africa South of the Sahara-Fully Revised

I must really make a plan to go, SR.

I only have one problem. I still have so many birds to see within SA's borders that I cannot justify a trip out of its borders yet. And then I would probably wanna tackle our neighboring countries first before venturing deeper into dark Africa.

But wow, it would be awesome to go bird in countries where just about every bird would be a lifer for me. big_smilebig_smilebig_smile

Re: Birds of Africa South of the Sahara-Fully Revised

I share your sentiments WTM. I was not interested in any bird beyond our borders when I still had a lot of birds to see in SA, but once you have had a taste of birding beyond our borders...trust me you will not look back!! big_smile

lollollol

Ja-nee, kyk.
Tipies Boksburg.

I am so annoyed right now, I'll sommer book a trip to Congo! BTW, I heard on 702 this morning that a South African canoeist was taken by a Croc there earlier this week. He was leading two Americans on a canoe safari when the croc pulled him from his raft.

That's what I call receiving an overdose of Africa. neutral

Ja DD, trust you!!

Poor guy getting taken by the croc! I remember when I did 30 day overland trips from Jo'bug to Nairobi during which time we did a 3 day canoeing trip down the Lower Zambezi. Flip there are some monsters living along that river. yikesyikesyikes

Re: Birds of Africa South of the Sahara-Fully Revised

The more I work through this book, the more mistakes I pick up.

The index makes reference to dowitchers which is missing from the page where they should be.

Fully revised my butt! madmad

Re: Birds of Africa South of the Sahara-Fully Revised

I remembered what the other omission in the book was, yesterday. The Yellowlegs. So on page 172 two Dowitchers are missing and on page 174 two Yellowlegs are missing.
