Re: What did you see today? (5)Who says you don't see many birds on an outing in Winter? On Monday I spent the day at Nylsvley and recorded 85 bird species, while on Thursday at Pilanesburg my nephew from New Zealand and I recorded over 95 species with a few that got away from us including a raptor, either Gabar Goshawk or Lizard Buzzard that we left off because we could not be sure. Re: What did you see today? (5)No, Trevor, you can't go around calling a bird a "Half-wit". They have very fragile self-images (there is always someone pecking on them from higher up the feather chain). I think you should apologise or be flogged at the nearest watering hole in full view of the birding community! Great trip report by the way - I am off to the UK for 2 weeks in August and hope to add a few species to my current UK list (which sits at a whopping 10 
) I will spend a week in a small village just NW of London and then a week on the coast in Cornwall. I better start doing some research on what I could target
